Blue Story

On a recent trip to the art store, I picked up a tube of watercolor paint in a gorgeous shade of turquoise (plus a bunch of unnecessary things that I just needed while in the moment). The unpredictable nature of watercolor typically deters me from this medium - the way it makes paper all soggy and wrinkly, how you can't control your lines...bah! But on this particular day, I felt like tackling watercolor and embracing its messy ways.  I ended up going through a pile of paper painting imperfect shapes that looked more interesting with their weird blobs of color and gradients - which I then turned into wrapping paper for M's (very belated) birthday present!
