Last weekend's indigo dyeing afternoon was perfection: laying out our large sheets of fabric, tying them into little bundles with rubber bands and string, dipping them with deep inky dye, and watching the dye get more and more saturated as it oxidized. We most definitely jumped up and down with excitement when, after 20 minutes, we untied our first bundle only to find the coolest unexpected patterns and gradients. So much that we proceeded to throw them around the backyard trying to capture their movement and colors.
