Long, open stretches of road and an idyllic, bohemian dome was the perfect backdrop to our desert escape - and for stories of almost-flat tires, falling into cacti, and getting lost amongst the Joshua Trees right before sunset. We stayed in the Dome in the Desert , an amazingly decorated space tucked away off a hidden dirt road, it felt like magic! Besides drinking champagne in caftans, cooking, and trying to devour an entire watermelon in our beautiful home away from home, our days were spent exploring the desert terrain and chasing purple-pink sunsets along the roads of Joshua Tree National Park. The Joshua Trees and rock formations were so different than the usual forest & ocean views I'm used to and there was something so still and wonderful about the landscape. It was, really, the best escape.
